Since 1971, Fred A. Fornwalt, RPT has provided full-service piano care in homes and institutions around Altoona, State College, and all of Central Pennsylvania. Fred is passionate about music and pianos, bringing a holistic approach to piano services.


The foundation for total piano care encompasses tone regulation, tuning, action regulation, fixing mechanical issues, and case touch up. This will bring your piano up to its peak performance level. I use these points to evaluate your instrument, make recommendations, and develop a plan to improve your piano in a cost-effective way.

Piano Care Expert

Piano materials and manufacturing processes have changed over the years, so you need an experienced technician who understands older piano models and newer pianos. Fred A. Fornwalt, RPT has been in business since 1971. For over 30 years, he has been contracted to service pianos around the Penn State University campus.
